MODUS: Transforming The Subsea OPEX Sector

news-details

Modus Limited has announced that it is accelerating the strategic development into transformative subsea survey, inspection, maintenance and repair technology as we refocus the business on autonomous and resident operations.

For the last four years the company has been operating Saab Sabertooth HAUVs (subsea drones) in ROV replacement roles – in both monitored and full autonomy - to evaluate capability and performance. This has equipped us with industry-leading knowledge of their capability and a detailed understanding of the technology and development requirements for fully autonomous and subsea resident applications. A testing and development facility was established in Sunderland and the two Sabertooth vehicles were committed to a six-month extensive development programme. This recently culminated in successful fully autonomous docking with Equinor’s subsea docking station – a necessary step to enable full implementation of Modus’ autonomy strategy, which is now taking place.

"We are now in a position to accelerate our programme, bring the latest technology to market and offer the industry carbon zero, low energy, low cost, data driven IMR and survey services using exclusive subsea drones in Modus’ ECO operating system" stated by the company officials in the press release.
